A visit to TMF under the International Leaders Programme run by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
The International Leaders Programme was launched in March 2013. It promotes lasting partnerships with a new generation of talented and influential leaders in their field, with a direct impact on UK global interests. Each visit brings together approximately 15 Leaders from a range of countries that have increasing economic and political power.
The International Leaders Programme identifies potential global leaders of the future and then brings them to the UK for a programme of high-level meetings, discussions, visits and briefings.
One of the delegates, Ms Marta Deus from Cuba, requested a briefing on The Mentoring Foundation. Discussions focused on the institutional and cultural challenges to the emerging private sector in Cuba, and the transition to a fully-functioning market economy. The Foundation’s mentoring approach, and ways in which aspects of the TMF model could be applied and implemented in Cuba, were also examined.
